Do I have to see an advisor before I can register?

You must see an advisor if you are new to IU Southeast, if you are undecided about your major or if your GPA is below a 2.0.

Can I register any time I want?

No. You have been assigned a registration time which will be posted on Onestart (http://onestart.iu.edu) in the Student Center.

Do I have to attend orientation?

Yes. All new first year students must attend a STAIR session during the summer if you plan to begin course work in the fall (August).  Orientation is also required for all new students, it will take place on the Friday before fall classes start and will consist of a full day of activities including convocation, school picnics, an information fair and much, much more!

See your academic advisor and then retake the class.

How do I drop a class?

If we are in the drop time period, simply go to the Office of the Registrar. If it is after the drop time, see your academic advisor.

Where can I get help planning my schedule?

From your academic advisor. Call the Academic Success Center at 941-2243 or stop by University Center South Room 207 to make an appointment.

What is Academic Bankruptcy?


If you have been out of school at IU Southeast for two consecutive years, you may have a maximum of two semesters of IU Southeast course work removed from your record. You must see your advisor to request bankruptcy.

Can I call my advisor and get my grades over the phone?

No. The Federal Right to Privacy Act does not allow us to share confidential information over the phone.
