Diver Underwater: Julie Brown scuba diving on the Kona Coast of Hawaii.
The Survivors: Twenty-three people started at the beginning of Pihea trail in Kaua'i, but only these eight made it to the end. This trail leads to the Akaka Swamp, known as one of the rainiest places on earth. From the bottom left clockwise: Marcus Kirtley (kneeling), Dr. Claude Baker, Jon Norman, Gail Emmert, Julie Brown, Terry Huff, Buddy Coates, and Paul Ranney.
Boating: Dr. Claude Baker and Tommy Raichel enjoy the native garb and exploring the coast in an outrigger canoe.
Climbing Rough Terrain: The Pihea trail in Kaua'i - believe it or not, it gets steeper.
The Braidy Bunch: All the students get into beads and braids in Belize.
Happiness is a Hammock: Beth Boesche takes a break from exploring to relax on the beach in Belize.
Sharks Say Hello: Nurse Sharks at Shark/Ray Alley come up to the boat hoping for a hand-out.
Petting Sharks: Students rub the belly of a Nurse Shark. Although these sharks can be very friendly and unafraid of people, they do not hesitate to defend themselves when harassed. Most of the world's shark bites come from Nurse Sharks.
Ruins of Tikal: These Mayan ruins in Belize date from 300-900 AD.
