Teaching in Taiwan
Beginning in the 2005-2006 school year, teachers from Indiana have been teaching English in schools in Taiwan.
Indiana was the first state to send American teachers to Taiwanas visiting professional educators and has a reputation of providing a pool of high quality candidates. The experiences for our Indianateachers and their Taiwanese host communities have been very positive. Returning teachers value this transformational international experience and the benefits it brings to their teaching in Indianaas they help our students prepare for the global society they will inhabit and create.
For new and experienced teachers interested in travel and work abroad, this is an opportunity they will not want to miss. We welcome applications from experienced teachers as well as beginning teachers. Please visit the website at http://www.doe.state.in.us/opd/Int_St/Taiwan/welcome.htm. for more information on the program and the application requirements.
We hope many of Indiana ’s finest educators will participate in strengthening this important and beneficial relationship between school communities in Taiwanand Indiana.
