Continuing Requirements
Requirements to take the educational psychology block (P250/P255/M201) |

Candidates must meet all the requirements below to be eligible to take the educational psychology block.
- Have been admitted to the SEP at IUS.
- Have a grade of at least 2.00 (C) and a grade point-average of at least 2.75
in their education coursework and in their coursework in all of their licensing
areas.
- Have taken or be concurrently enrolled in EDUC-W 200.
- Have an overall grade-point-average of at least 2.75.
- Be eligible for student teaching in the spring of the next academic year
(have completed at least 60 credit hours that count toward the degree to take
the block in the fall semester and at least 72 credit hours to take the block in
the spring semester).

Summative Decision Point 2
Candidates must pass all of the requirements for Summative Decision Point 2 to be eligible to enroll in the general methods/reading methods block.
- Have passed the educational psychology block (P 250/P 255/M 201) and W200 with no grade less than a C (2.00) and an overall GPA in professional education courses of at least 2.75
- Have acceptable recommendations from the instructor and field experience teacher from the educational psychology block (P250/P255/M201).
- Have no grade less than a C and an overall GPA of at least 2.75 in each area that will be on the teaching license.
- Have an overall GPA of at least 2.75 on all coursework completed in the Indiana University system.
- Have a portfolio with at least a basic rating.
- Be eligible to complete student teaching in the spring semester following general methods/reading methods, and complete all of the degree requirements by the end of the summer sessions following student teaching.
Please note: Candidates are strongly encouraged to plan for May graduation--summer graduates may not be able to become licensed until after the fall school term begins.

Summative Decision Point 3
Candidates must meet the following Summative Decision Point 3 requirements to be eligible to enroll in specific methods and student teaching.
- Have completed all of their general education requirements with appropriate grades.
- Have completed at least 75% of the coursework in each area that is going to be on their teaching license.
- Have passed the general methods/reading methods block (M 301/ M314/ M464) with no grade less than a C (2.00) and an overall GPA in professional education courses of at least 2.75.
- Have acceptable recommendations from the instructors and field experience teacher from general methods/reading methods.
- Have no grade less than a C and an overall GPA of at least 2.75 in each area that will be on the teaching license.
- Have an overall GPA of at least 2.75 on all coursework completed in the Indiana University system.
