Program Overview

The School of Education offers a program leading to the B. S in elementary education. The elementary education major leads to Indiana's teaching license for early and middle childhood. Licensing in Kentucky is also available. The Elementary Education Program also offers a program for students interested in obtaining licensing in middle school/early adolescence with licensing areas in language arts, math, science and social studies.

Students who pursue a major in Elementary Education will explore a variety of subjects including art, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and professional education. Graduates have an incredible opportunity to teach young people academic and life skills that will impact generations to come.

The Elementary Education Program prepares individuals to teach in Indiana schools in grades kindergarten through the fifth grade. Additional course work may be needed to meet certification requirements in Kentucky.
