Licenses
The following license programs are offered through the Graduate Study in Education program at IU Southeast. For more information, please visit the following web pages.
KENTUCKY EDUCATORS--ATTENTION!!! Educators licensed in Kentucky need official transcripts for license renewal and/or rank change applications. BE AWARE that official IU Southeast transcripts are not available immediately after coursework is completed. Transcripts with grades are usually available about one week after the end of each term (Fall, Spring, Summer 1, and Summer 2). (While Intensive 2 courses are finished in late July, grades will not be posted until mid-August.) Degrees are awarded three times a year: 5/31, 8/31, and 12/31; degrees are posted to official transcripts on or about 15 days later. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that renewal coursework and license applications are completed in a timely manner, allowing time for obtaining necessary official transcripts.

- +30/Rank 1: The IU Southeast School of Education offers these programs for teachers to enhance their license through additional coursework. "Plus 30" plans are generally negotiated between Indiana teachers and their school corporation; the University may be a source of coursework but has no larger role. Rank 1 can be earned by KY teachers with a total of 60 graduate credit hours in Education (or teaching areas), including a master's degree; the University must recommend the candidate to the State for the change in rank. The KY Education Professional Standards Board and our School of Education both highly encourage Rank 1 candidates to work towards adding other licensing areas (see above). Please contact our Graduate Advisor for more information: Mrs Jane Riehl, Hillside Hall #0031, 812/941.2449, jriehl@ius.edu.
