School of the Year

Green Valley Elementary School

The School of the Year Award is given to a school that has had an outstanding record of partnering with the School of Education in the current academic year. One school, in particular, has worked to place our teaching candidates in their classrooms. The recipient of this award has partnered with us in facilitating the Elementary Transition to Teaching Program. The teachers and administration quickly agreed to accept our first group of T to T students which was a great leap of faith on their part. The teachers and administrators were flexible as the new program struggled to find its way. They freely offered time, materials, friendship and gave valuable feedback to our students. We have drawn on the expertise of the teachers, staff and administration of Green Valley for almost a decade. The faculty and administration at Green Valley have been a group of professionals upon whom we can count.
