The Teacher Education Program was reaccredited. Congratulations to all involved.
President Brand is willing to consider changing the IU Southeast divisions to schools. Deans have been asked to notify VC Atnip about what their division wants to do. There has been no discussion concerning full-fledged departments.
The currrent policy, endorsed by the Senate, whereby students who wish
to withdraw must get the instructor’s signature, will need to be changed.
The U.S. Department of Education has informed the University that any student
receiving federal financial aid must inform the registrar that they are
dropping a class, but they shall not be required to get a signature.
This process will change for all students so not to have two procedures,
one for those receiving financial aid and one for those who do not.
