University Division Steering Committee

a. The University Division Steering Committee shall consist of four faculty members, two representatives from University Division, one professional advisor from the academic units, and the Director of the First Year Seminar. The FYS Director will serve as an ex officio member. The remaining committee members will serve two-year staggered terms and will be elected by the Faculty Senate from nominees presented by the Faculty Senate Nominating Committee.

b. This committee will be responsible for oversight of the policies and standards that comprise the academic advising function of University Division. The committee shall periodically review the role and structure of academic advising within UD. The committee shall also foster communication and cooperation between UD and the academic units to ensure the smooth transition of students from UD to the academic units.
