I am attaching two files in PDF format. The version saved as master teacher last year
represents the version under which the most recent review committee
operated. I have indicated, via a
strikethrough, an area that has been deleted.
The attachment saved as "Initiative for Master Teacher Status_revised_ 2002_highlighted" represents the most
recently updated version. I have
indicated the areas of changes with an underline and change in font color. As you will notice the area
of change deals with the granting of "years" for past experience. We are gradually eliminating the ability for
one to receive past credit. The most
recent master teacher review committee suggested eliminating all five years at
once, we (the ILTE advisory board) felt it would be better to eliminate the
credit one year at a time. The hope is
that those faculty who feel they best fit the
alternate pathway will apply in the next few years rather than not applying at
all.
