Library Reserves Policy
The following policies are in effect for course reserve materials submitted to the IUS Library Reserves desk:
- A maximum of two articles can be accepted for e-reserves from any single journal issue.
- No more than 5% of an out-of-print book can be accepted for e-reserves. Percentages are based upon the total number of pages in the volume.
- For in-print titles, no more than a single part (chapter), or a maximum of 5% of work, whichever is smaller, will be scanned for e-reserves.
- Requests for more than a single part (chapter) of an in-print book will be filled by placing the original volume on paper reserves.
- Requested in-print titles, which are not owned by the IUS Library, will be referred to the appropriate subject liaison for purchase consideration.
- IUS Library follows the copyright guidelines established for IUPUI University Library's ERROL system.
- IUS Library will not accept student papers without a completed permissions form.
- IUS Library will not pay royalties for making materials available on reserve.
- The IUS Library does not seek permissions for the use of copyrighted works; faculty members may find information to help them seek permissions at http://copyright.iupui.edu/permhome.htm.
