Megan Stout (harp) holds a Bachelor of Music degree in harp performance from Indiana University and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in harp performance from IU. She has studied with Elizabeth Hainen of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Distinguished Professor, Susann McDonald at IU. Other teachers have included Naoko Yoshino, Jana Bouskova, Sebastien Lipman, and Isabelle Perrin. Ms. Stout performs regularly as a soloist, orchestral, and chamber musician. She has won prizes in the American String Teacher’s Association’s National Solo Competition, Matinee Musical Club Solo Competition, National Society of Arts and Letters, and several concerto competitions allowing her to perform as a soloist with Philadelphia area orchestras. Ms. Stout is the principal harpist of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and she plays with the Indianapolis Symphony, Ft. Wayne Symphony, South Bend Symphony, Carmel Symphony, and has performed in the Breckenridge Music Festival as their principal harpist and soloist in 2006. She has also played with the Philadelphia Orchestra.
