NEW ALBANY, Ind. — The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will present the IU Southeast Concert Band with guest artist, saxophonist, Cory Barnfield on Sunday, November 4 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richard K. Stem Concert Hall of the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany.  Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, seniors, and IU Southeast faculty & staff, and are available at the Ogle Center ticket office or by calling (812) 941-2525.

Under the direction of music director, Donald McMahel and conductor, Philip Thomas, the 57 musicians on the Concert Band will perform Punchinello by Alfred Reed, the Italian Rhapsody by Julie Giroux, To the Summit by Frank Tichelli, and the First Suite for Band by Alfred Reed.

The concert will also feature saxophonist, Cory Barnfield in a performance of Aria and Allegro for Soprano Saxophone and Band by Gregory Pascuzzi.

CORY BARNFIELD has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He is the founding member and soprano saxophonist of the Louisville Saxophone Quartet, and serves as saxophonist for the Paducah, Louisville, and Jackson Symphony Orchestras. Mr. Barnfield has also given numerous clinics at middle schools, high schools, and colleges throughout Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana. He can be heard on Mark Custom Recordings, Amos Recordings in Switzerland and New Dynamic Records. Mr. Barnfield released his first solo CD in the summer of 2010 on the New Dynamic Records label. Mr. Barnfield currently teaches in the Jefferson County School system and for the Indiana University Southeast Arts Institute, and has regularly served as the saxophone instructor for the annual Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts program for an intensive three week program teaching some of the finest saxophone students in the Kentucky region. He also maintains an active studio of instruction for private students. Mr. Barnfield received his B.M.E degree from Murray State University and his M.S. degree from Indiana University. His artistic influences come from Scott Erickson, Otis Murphy, John Moore, Paul Bro and Dale Underwood.

Parking: Free parking is available only in the Dogwood Lot directly in front of the Ogle Center from one hour before the performance until one hour after the conclusion of the performance. Vehicles parked in lots other than the Dogwood Lot without a permit will be ticketed.
