Requirements for Other Pre-Allied Health Science Degree Programs
Students interested in degrees in allied health
science fields can take courses toward those degrees
at
IU Southeast. Students generally can take one to
three years at IU Southeast and then must complete
their degrees at another institution, such as the
Indiana University Medical Center at Indianapolis.
Many such students will be only a few courses short
of an A.A. in biology.
Any student who is interested in allied health
science programs should contact the dean of the
School of
Natural Sciences for the most current information
about the availability of courses and programs
and the
requirements for completing degrees.
The following are some programs which students may begin at IU Southeast:
- A.S. Health Information Technology – IUPUI
- A.S. Paramedic Science – IUPUI
- A.S. Radiography – IUPUI & JCC
- A.S. Nuclear Medicine Technology – JCC
- A.S. Occupational Therapy Assistance – JCC
- A.S. Physical Therapist Assistance – JCC
- A.S. Respiratory Care – JCC
- B.S. Cytotechnology – IUPUI
- B.S. Health Information Administration – IUPUI
- B.S. M.S. Health Sciences Education – IUPUI
- B.S. Medical Imaging Technology – IUPUI
- B.S. Nuclear Medicine Technology – IUPUI
- B.S. Radiation Therapy – IUPUI
- B.S. Respiratory Therapy – IUPUI & Bellarmine
University
- M.S. Occupational Therapy – IUPUI
- D.P.T. Physical Therapy – IUPUI & Bellarmine University
Students interested in occupational therapy must ultimately earn a master’s degree, while those interested in physical therapy must ultimately earn a doctorate in that field. Contact the School of Natural Sciences for information about preprofessional preparation at the bachelor’s level.
