PRAXIS™ Tests

The Praxis Series is an Educational Testing Service (ETS) program that provides tests and other services for states and institutions to use as a part of their teacher certification process.

Important New Cell Phone Policy

Possession of or use of telephones, cell phones, BlackBerry® devices, PDAs and other electronic or photographic devises is prohibited in the test center.  If a test taker brings such a device into the test center, they will be dismissed from the test, their registration and test fees will be forfeited, and their scores will be canceled by ETS.  Test center staff are prohibited from collecting and holding devices.

Important New Graphing Calculator Policy

Test administration staff will clear the memory of all graphing calculators both before and after the test administration.  We recommend that you back up any important information in your calculator's memory, including applications, before arriving at the test site. We also recommend that you know how to clear the memory on the approved calculator that you plan to use during the test. Instructions on how to back up and clear the memory of calculators can be found on various calculator web sites.

Test Session Conflicts

If two tests you need are offered in the same session, you must obtain approval from ETS. You may not register online for out-of-session testing; you must mail two registration forms.

Out-of-session testing is offered for test takers whose state requires multiple tests for a single licensure area AND the required tests are offered in the same testing session.

To register for out-of-session testing, test takers must submit two registration forms (one registration form for each test), the registration fee (charged only once per testing year), and the test fee for each test (plus any late fees, if applicable). Please mail registration forms and appropriate fees to the attention of Debra Siwczak at the address below:

Debra Siwczak
Educational Testing Service
Rosedale Road, Mailstop 51-L
Princeton, NJ 08541 USA

Registration forms and appropriate fees MUST be received at Educational Testing Service prior to the late registration deadline. Please note: registration for out-of-session testing is not available during the emergency registration period.

Please allow 10 working days for the processing of your registration forms. You will receive 2 admission tickets in the mail (1 for each out of session test you are registered for). The tickets will say the tests are offered at the same time because the tickets are generated from our system. However, 1 week prior to your test date you will receive an e-mail authorization letter indicating which test is scheduled during Session 1 and which is scheduled during Session 2. You must take the tickets, authorization letter, and appropriate identification with you on test day.

For additional information regarding out-of-session testing, please contact Educational Testing Service Praxis Customer Service at 1-800-772-9476.
