Placement Testing

All new students are required to take writing, reading, math, and modern language placement tests.  Report to the Student Development Center in University Center South, Room 203 (US 203). 

Please bring the following to your placement test session:

  • Your ten-digit University ID Number found on your Certificate of Admission letter
  • Picture identification (Driver's License, High School Picture ID, Passport).

You may use your calculator, if approved, or the math test calculator. View the Approved Calculator List.  We provide pencils and scratch paper. The use of cellular phones or other electronic devices is not allowed while you are testing.

Reading, Writing and Mathematics Placement Testing
(completing all tests takes between 1 and 2 hours)
Monday Begin between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm
Tuesday Begin between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm
Wednesday Begin between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm
Thursday Begin between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm
Friday Begin between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm
   

Parking

  • Buy an all-day pass for $1.00 at one of the vending machines located near each campus entrance.

In Case of Bad Weather

Look at the lower right hand corner of the IU Southeast homepage for the Campus Status. You may call the campus closing line at 812-941-2662 to see if the campus is open. If the campus is open, we will administer placement tests.
