Advising

Welcome to Advising in the School of Social Sciences

Dana Creamer is the Professional Academic Adviser for the School of Social Sciences.  If you are an IUS student who has just declared a major in the School of Social Sciences, you will need to make sure that the Academic Success Center transfers your file to the School of Social Sciences (Crestview 140) and you should make an appointment with Ms. Creamer in Crestview 011.  She can be reached at 812-941-2391 or 812-941-2299.

If you are an IUS student transferring from another major outside the School of Social Sciences, you need to have your original school send your file to the School of Social Sciences (Crestview 140).  At that point, you should make an appointment with Ms. Creamer in Crestview 011.

If you are a transfer student from another university, you need to have the admissions office send your file to the School of Social Sciences (Crestview 140).  At that point, you should make an appointment with Ms. Creamer in Crestview 011.

You are strongly encouraged to consult regularly with an adviser.  Advisers review academic requirements, discuss prospective courses, and consider how those courses fit into your overall academic plan. They may discuss the relationship between academic plans and prospective careers.
