Admissions

Beginning in the Fall of 2012, any student expressing a desire to major in one of the programs in Social Sciences will be housed in Social Sciences as a “pre” major. They will be advised by one of the professional advisers in Crestview Hall.  Once that student meets the requirements, the “pre” designation will be dropped, and the student will become a full-fledged major.

To declare a major in one of the programs in Social Sciences, a student needs to have completed 12 hours, passed a First Year Seminar (FYS) class, completed English Composition W131 with a C or better, and completed an introductory course in the intended major with a C- or better.  Students transferring from another school at IU Southeast must make an appointment with one of the professional advisers.

Graduate Program Admissions:

Master of Liberal Studies (MLS)
For regular admission, students must have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B). Applications are accepted anytime, but to assure enrollment, students should apply by July 15 for the fall semester and by November 15 for the spring. Applications may be obtained through the Master in Liberal Studies office at Crestview Hall 018B or by calling (812) 941-2604 or (812) 941-2668.
