Champions Dinner

The Jim Morris Champion of Character Award is given annually to a student-athlete who exemplifies strong moral character, sportsmanship and the core values of the NAIA’s Champion of Character program as voted by members of the IU Southeast Athletic Department. This premier award is given annually during the Champions Dinner and is dedicated in the name of former men’s basketball head coach and athletic director Jim Morris. Morris joined IU Southeast in 1975 and retired in 2000. He is credited with building the IU Southeast Athletic program into what it is today. This award named in his honor recognizes a deserving student-athlete who best represents what our scholar-athletes have to offer to the community, and who embodies all that Coach Morris stands for and taught his student-athletes for many years.
