Are you looking to gain valuable medical experience working with emergency room physicians while you are waiting to get into medical school, PA school or graduate school?

PhysAssist Scribes, Inc. currently has openings for full time candidates who are interested in gaining medical experience to join our team in the Louisville area. Part time candidates are encouraged to apply, as well. Our scribes work in the emergency departments at several of the hospitals in Louisville.

As a scribe you will do the following:
- Work side by side with physicians as they see patients
- Document the patient history and chief complaint
- Document the physical exam and procedures
- Enter x-ray, lab, and diagnostic test results
- Prepare plans for follow up care

This is a NOT an internship, this is a real job with real responsibilities! This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to pursue a future career in health care. Not only does it allow you to shadow physicians and to get paid doing it, but it allows you to learn medical terminology, charting and it will put you one step ahead of other candidates looking to pursue med school, PA school, nursing school or health care programs.

Our Scribes must be reliable, positive, motivated, and professional. At PhysAssist, our scribes have the ability to multitask, stay organized and manage time efficiently in a fast paced environment. These attributes are essential to success in an ED or clinical setting.

You must be at least 18 years of age. Pre-health professional students with a junior status or above at an accredited university or recent graduates preferred. You must be able to balance school and work. You must have excellent computer / typing skills.

You must be able to commit to one of these time requirements:
Full Time: 4-5 shifts/week; 40 hours a week
Mid-Time: 3-4 shifts/week; 30 hours a week
Part Time: 2-3 shifts/week; 20 hours a week
