Description
The full-time, non-exempt position is responsible for assisting the Kentucky Science Center's Senior Manager of Marketing & Sales in a variety of marketing and administrative duties, performs tasks related to the areas of responsibility, and works with Marketing & Sales Team in support of department's goals and objectives.

Principal Responsibilities:
Fulfills requests and maintains records and control of Science Center passes including value added trades, promotions, corporate partnership/sponsorship benefits, community relations activities, and relationship cultivation. Prepares reports as needed. Supports tourism efforts through filing and tracking of programs in cooperation with the LCVB; is responsible for submitting the Kentucky Tourism Marketing Incentive Program matching funds grant request and reimbursement applications. Distributes and tracks of all brochures, rack cards, newsletters, etc. This includes maintaining an effective list of recipients and keeping the front admissions desk, LCVB, and Main Street Association rack stocked at all times. Also includes fulfillment of requests for leads provided by the LCVB. Maintains organized sample files for all marketing collateral and promotional materials. Assists in compiling related materials for sponsorship fulfillment packages. Responsible for all marketing department reports including but not limited to Marketing/Board meetings and film screening results, etc. Responsible for maintaining a master record of all earned media and public relations coverage. Maintains a file of media clippings. Prepares reports on earned media and public relations activities as needed. Prepares POs for department invoices; keeps the finance department apprised of department expenses. Responsible for updating and maintaining listings of Science Center programs, movie showtimes through various outlets. Under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Marketing & Sales, coordinating promotional giveaways with media partners. Coordinate and implement promotional posters (ClubEd and Members) about exhibits, films, events and programs - maintaining dates and deadlines, collecting copy from other departments, performing copy editing, and working with vendors for completion and delivery. Edit updates to web site, ensuring accuracy, relevance and adherence to Science Center writing guidelines. Work closely with other departments to maintain the Kentucky Science Center brand through online surveys. Assist with updating contact records for e-newsletter databases including but not limited to “Science Wire,” “Club Ed” and our monthly Early Childhood e-newsletters. Assist with hosted programs, as assigned, such as Members-Only events, and other similar projects. Performs various other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Marketing & Sales.

Qualifications
A Bachelors Degree or a minimum of two years post high school education in administration, communications, or general arts and sciences including two years of experience in a professional environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to organize and manage an office setting. Experience with online survey and e-communications marketing services. Knowledge and above average skills of various computer programs including but not limited to data entry, mail merges, PowerPoint, and Excel. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to work with people of various socio-economic levels. Good skills in interpersonal relations. Ability to plan, organize and complete a wide range of diverse activities at the same time. Understanding of Science Center's mission and goals. Evening and weekend work will be required during special events and/or promotions.
