Spring Students Overview

Check Your Admission Status

If you are not sure if you are a Transfer Student, check your Letter of Admission for confirmation.

Read “Steps for All Students”

Before you start your next steps as a Transfer Student, be sure to become familiar with the information in the Steps for All Students section.

Access Network ID

You need to create your network identification user name and password to access computing services at IU Southeast. To set up your account, please go to the Account Management System. You will need your University Identification Number listed on your Letter of Admission. Your network identification will enable you to access information from OneStart, which will help you manage your academic life including personal information, academic services, registration and financial aid. If you need help setting up your network identification user name, please call (812) 941-2447. PLEASE NOTE: If you set up an IU guest account to check your admission status, you must set up a new IU computer account in order to register for classes and manage your student record.

View Transfer Credit Report (TCR) & Academic Advising Report (AAR)

You can see how your credit has transferred to IU Southeast and how it applies to our degree programs. You can access your Transfer Credit Report (TCR) & Academic Advising Report (AAR) after setting up your network ID and password. Log onto OneStart and follow this path: Self-Service (on the menu bar on the left) > Go to Student Center > My Academics and Grades > View Academic Credit Report. It is helpful to become familiar with both reports and discuss them with your Academic Advisor.

You can learn more about the AAR on the Registrar's website. If you have questions about the transfer credit report, please call the Admissions Office at 812-941-2212. Questions about how your credits will apply toward your IU degree should be directed to your academic advisor.

Take Placement Tests

Newly admitted undergraduate students at Indiana University Southeast must complete placement tests in reading, writing, mathematics, and modern languages prior to enrolling in classes. If you have transferred completed coursework in these areas do not need to test (see your Transfer Credit Report). Visit the Student Development Center for placement test dates and times.

Meet with Your Advisor and Register for Classes

Call the academic school listed on your Letter of Admission to schedule an advising appointment. Registration for transfer students begins in November and runs through January. Please note that your university computing accounts must be created 24 hours before your first advising appointment; your placement tests must also be completed before your appointment.

Attend Orientation

During Orientation, you will have opportunities to meet faculty, staff and other new students; learn about academic expectations; get your student ID created; purchase books; and take a campus tour. Visit Orientation to learn more and register online.

Start Classes

Spring 2015 begins on Monday, January 12.
