Indiana University Southeast, like all IU campuses, is monitoring the H1N1 influenza as college campuses across the country see increases in the number of reported cases.
IU Southeast is concerned about the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. While the virus causes relatively mild illness in most people who become infected, if you believe you are experiencing symptoms consistent with the flu, you should stay home and minimize contact with other people. We urge those who experience flu-like symptoms to immediately visit their primary care provider or an immediate care center for evaluation.
With expectations that the virus will be more widespread than last spring, IU Southeast is reminding the campus community to take appropriate precautions to combat influenza.
IU Southeast has placed hand sanitizer dispensers and posters with prevention suggestions from the Center for Disease Control across campus. We will keep you informed of additional information about H1N1 influenza as it becomes available.
With basic prevention efforts and constant awareness, we can all help the IU Southeast community stay healthy.
