G-24. Flagpoles and Flags on Campus

The United States, Indiana, and IU Southeast flags will be flown continuously unless weather conditions are unsuitable.

The flags may be lowered to the half-staff position to honor deceased members of the faculty, staff, or student body. The University Police will lower the campus flags to the half-staff position from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the day of the funeral or memorial service. An appropriate sign will be displayed to identify the deceased person who is being honored in this manner.

The flags may be lowered to the half-staff position to honor deceased persons when requested or directed by the President of the United States, the Governor of Indiana, the President of the University, or the Chancellor of the campus. Unless otherwise directed by the Chancellor, or in his or her absence by the senior administrator present, no one shall raise or lower flags except designated employees.
