Freshman Admissions Standards (for students entering Fall 2007 and later) |

Freshman applicants must meet one of the following four criteria: 1. Core 40 diploma with at least a 2.0 high school GPA 2. Academic Honors diploma 3. At least 28 college preparatory high school courses AND at least a 3.0 high school GPA 4. At least 28 college preparatory high school courses, at least a 2.5 high school GPA, AND at least 950 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT Students who are not eligible for full admission may be admitted conditionally if two of the following three criteria are met: * At least a 2.0 GPA * At least 26 college preparatory high school courses * At least 900 on the SAT or 19 on the ACT All applicants who have a graduation date of May, 2005 or later must submit SAT or ACT scores. This requirement includes current high school students. Please note that students must meet the required SAT scores by using the sum of only the Math and Critical Reading scores. All applicants must demonstrate English proficiency. Applicants can demonstrate English proficiency in various ways, including graduating from a U.S. (or other English-based) high school, passing the English version of the GED, or earning a C or above in a college-level English course at a U.S. (or other English-based) college or university. Students who have been out of high school for over two years and do not meet the minimum requirements listed for traditional students must speak individually with an admissions counselor to demonstrate intention through maturity and experience. |

IU Southeast welcomes students who have successfully completed the GED. A minimum score of 50 or 500 (depending upon the year you completed the GED) is required for admission.
