Congratulations Class of 2008

Join us on Monday, May 5, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the outdoor stage of the IU Southeast Ogle Center amphitheater as we celebrate the academic accomplishments and confer degrees to the Class of 2008. IU Southeast will soon have more than 19,000 alumni, and we are proud to welcome our newest members!

You, your family, and friends are invited to attend Commencement 2008 and the reception that follows in the lobby of the IU Southeast Ogle Center. Chancellor Patterson-Randles and the IU Southeast faculty look forward to meeting your visitors and sharing in this special moment.

Commencement Day Procedures

Plan to assemble at 5 p.m. on Alumni Drive—in full academic attire—with the other graduates from your school. If you have questions, or need a little help keeping you cap pinned on, seek out the assistance of one of the campus volunteers. Once you assemble in your school’s area, get your name card from the staff marshal and get ready for the processional.

The march down the hill, passing through all the spectators and into the graduate seating area in front of the amphitheater, is one of IU’s most memorial processional locations. Savor the moment and feel proud of your accomplishments.

If it Rains (Rain Site Procedures)

If Commencement is moved indoors due to inclement weather, Commencement ceremonies will be held in the IU Southeast Activities Building (Gym). In order to better accommodate you and your guests, there will be two rain site Commencement ceremonies. See the list below to determine if your school is in the 3:00 or 6:00 ceremony. Included in your cap and gown packet are five rain site tickets. Only those guests with rain site tickets will be granted admission into the ceremony. If you have more than five guests who wish to celebrate with you, overflow seating is provided in Hillside Hall (HH) room 104.

If inclement weather is a possibility, the University will decide on the morning of May 5 if indoor Commencement ceremonies are required. Check this page or www.ius.edu for the announcement.
