Diane Reid is a Senior Lecturer of Communication. She earned her M.A. from Western Kentucky University in Communication with an emphasis in oral interpretation of literature. Diane has been a member of the Communication Studies faculty since 1981. She teaches courses in public speaking, interpersonal communication, oral interpretation of literature, discussion and group methods, and voice and diction. Her teaching awards include: Metroversity Outstanding Faculty for Adults Award (1996), Teaching Excellence Recognition Award (1997-2000), Most Accessible Professor Award from ACCESS (1997), and the Trustees Teaching Award (2002-2006; 2009-10). In 2001 she was inducted into FACET, the IU system organization which recognizes outstanding teaching; in 2003 she received the Distinguished Teaching Award for the IU Southeast campus. Diane conducts corporate training workshops for local businesses in the areas of interpersonal relations and public presentations.
