The Program Assessment Process is an annual, data-based process for improving an academic program and student learning within a program. Every academic program is required to implement this process.
The primary tool used in the Program Assessment Process is the Program Assessment Plan. The Program Assessment Plan defines the student learning goals for the program (i.e., the knowledge and skills that a graduate of the program is expected to possess) and defines one or more measurable outcomes for each goal. Data is collected for each outcome in order to assess the extent to which students have achieved the program's defined student learning goals.
