Payment Questions


Q.  When is the due date for tuition and fees?

A.  The latest due dates can be found on the Bursar Fee Calendar page. 

Q. Does the bursar office offer a personal deferment? What if I can't pay by the due date?

A.  Yes, a personal deferment option is available to eligible students.  Payments are split into 4 equal installments for a fee.  Please see the Personal Deferment section of our website for more info.

Q.  How much is tuition per credit hour?

A.  All current tuition and fee rates can be found on the Tuition and Fees page.

Q.  Does the bursar office take payments over the phone?

A.  The Bursar's Office will accept credit card payments over the phone, but no confirmation number can be given.  Online payments are available through OneStart. Students can pay with check or credit card online.

Q.  Will my classes be automatically canceled if I do not pay?

A.  The Bursar's Office will no longer cancel student's enrollment for non-payment. If you decide not to attend, it is the student's responsibility to withdraw from classes before the end of the 100% refund period.

Q.  Can I use my Spring financial aid to cover by Fall past due balance?

A.  You may use your aid to cover your balance as long as you have signed a Title-IV authorization form and financial aid has given the bursar's office confirmation that you will be receiving enough aid to cover both the tuition for spring and the past due balance from fall.  All paperwork must be received by the financial aid office.  Note:  Failure to pay by the due date will cause your account to be assessed late payment fees of 1.5% per month.  In addition, your account will be encumbered and you will be unable to register for future semesters or receive a transcript. 

Q. How do I get a duplicate bill? 

A.  Follow the steps below to retrieve a copy of your bill from QuickPay

  1. Log onto OneStart
  2. Select the Services Tab on the top.
  3. On the left hand side of your screen, select "Self Service"
  4. Under the Services & Information channel, select "View/Pay Bursar Bill"
  5. Click "View Accounts"
  6. Under the drop-down box select "Statement History"
  7. Click the detail of the bill you want to view
  8. Click "Printable Statement"Q.  Can my Spring financial aid pay for my Fall classes?

Q.  How do I make an online payment? 

A.  Follow the steps below:

  1. Log onto OneStart
  2. Select the Services Tab on the top.
  3. On the left hand side of your screen, select "Self Service"
  4. Under the Services & Information channel, select "View/Pay Bursar Bill"
  5. You are now in the QuickPay system - Click "Make a payment" on the left of the screen
  6. Click the "Pay" button for the account you are paying
  7. Enter your payment amount
  8. Select your payment method
  9. Click continue
  10. Enter the credit card or E-check information
  11. Click Continue
  12. Verify information and click "confirm"
  13. Print Receipt

Q.  How can my parent or spouse make an online payment?

A.  You must set your parent or spouse up as an authorized payer. To do this you must:

  1. Log onto OneStart
  2. Select the Services Tab on the top.
  3. On the left hand side of your screen, select "Self Service"
  4. Under the Services & Information channel, select "View/Pay Bursar Bill"
  5. Click the "Authorize Payers" link
  6. Click "Add New"
  7. Create the person's own user name and password.
  8. Click "Add"

You must then inform the person of their user name and password. Then he/she can log into the system and will only have access to pay on your account. Only give your parent/spouse your own password and user name if you want them to have access to your grades, schedule, address, and other personal information.

Refunds


  1. How do I know if I am signed up for direct deposit? Or How do I sign up for direct deposit?
    1. Log onto OneStart
    2. Click the "Services" tab along the top
    3. Click "Self Service" on the left
    4. Click "Sign up for Direct Deposit" - it is located in the Services & Information channel

  2. When will I receive my financial aid refund?
    Due to federal regulations, financial aid can be sent out beginning 10 days before school starts.  Please view the bursar Fee Calendar for current semester dates.  ** If you are receiving a check through the mail, estimate a week and a half to 2 weeks for the check to reach you. 

    ** If your refund has not been requested, you may still sign up for direct deposit online.  Direct deposit takes 2-3 days to show up in your bank account from the date it's requested.

  3. When is the last day I can withdraw and get a 100% refund?
    The end of the first week of classes is the last day to receive a 100% refund on your classes.  Please view the bursar Fee Calendar for current semester refund dates.
    For non-standard sessions, please refer to the refund schedule on the Bursar's website.

Problems or Error Messages


  1. I'm trying to use OneStart and my user name or password is invalid.
    You will need to speak to the IT department. 812-941-2447.

  2. I have a student loan administration block, who do I need to talk to?
    You will need to contact the student loan administration in Bloomington at 1-800-458-8756.

Other Fees


  1. When will parking permits be mailed?
    Parking permits will be mailed a few weeks before classes begin for students who selected a permit during registration. Any student who didn't select parking or registered after bills were mailed will need to go to the police department (University Center North 007) to get a permit. If you are not sure if you selected a permit, the police dept can let you know if one was mailed. Police Department 812-941-2400.

  2. Why do I have duplicating charges on my account?
    This fee is charged to students who went over their printing allotment for the semester.  Contact the IT Department 812-941-2447 if you think the amount is incorrect.

General FYI Questions


Q.  What are the Bursar hours of operation?
A.  The Bursar Hours of Operation are:

Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Q.  I received a Title IV authorization in the mail. What is this for?
A.  The Title-IV authorization form gives IU Southeast permission to use your federal financial aid to pay for anything on your account that's not tuition. The most common examples are parking permits, bookstore charges, late fees, library fines, parking fines, or duplicating charges.

Q.  How do I get my tax information?
A.  A copy of your 1098-T form can be found on OneStart

  1. Log onto OneStart 
  2. Select the "Services" Tab at the top.
  3. Select "Self Service" on the left.
  4.  In the Services & Information channel, select "1098-T" form.

If you have questions regarding the amount on your 1098-T, you will need to contact the tax department in Bloomington at 1-812-855-5657.
