Welcome to the IU Southeast School of Business web site. Our faculty and staff are proud to be a part of Indiana University and contribute to the principles of excellence that were outlined by IU President Michael McRobbie. These principles include providing an excellent and relevant education to students from all backgrounds in Indiana and engaging in the economic and social development of Indiana. As an AACSB accredited business school, the IU Southeast School of Business maintains the quality reputation of an IU degree.
As evidence that we are providing an education of the highest quality, for the eighth year in a row now the IU Southeast School of Business has been named a “Best Business School” by the Princeton Review. This recognition follows on our national rankings by Bloomberg’s BusinessWeek and U.S. News & World Report.
While national rankings and ratings are gratifying, we are more pleased with our students’ academic performance. Our students’ performance on outcomes assessments is consistently among the top in the nation. Our undergraduates have scored among the top fifteen percent or better nationwide in twenty of the last twenty-two assessments on the ETS Major Field Test in Business. The graduate business students have scored among the top ten percent or better for ten straight years. Our student teams have won two first place and two second places finishes in the last four years in the Regional CFA Challenge competing against teams from the Kelley School of Business, Butler University, the University of Tennessee Knoxville, the University of Louisville and others.
Other exciting events of the past year include the fourth Sanders Speaker Series event which featured Billy Beane, the GM of the Oakland A’s and subject of the best-selling book, Moneyball. At the beginning of Fall 2012 semester we opened a new, state-of-the-art graduate center in Jeffersonville. These programs and facility enhancements show our commitment to serving our community and preparing our graduates to deal with the many challenges they will face throughout their careers. The School of Business’ mission is “quality education for a lifetime of achievement.” We prepare the future leaders of our community to succeed throughout their careers, not just their first jobs. This is what it means to be educated as opposed to being trained and there are no shortcuts.
Regardless of one's major, business professionals succeed if they have a well-rounded understanding of business and can successfully make business decisions. The School of Business takes pride in offering a solid undergraduate experience in business with opportunities to pursue concentrations in accounting, business economics and public policy, finance, information and operations management, human resources management, international business, marketing, and management.
The School of Business and Indiana University Southeast are committed to providing the best academic programs possible for Southern Indiana and the Greater Louisville area. We encourage you to navigate our website to find out more about the innovative educational opportunities we offer.
