What are the GRE, LSAT, MCAT...?

Most graduate programs will require that you take one or more standardized tests before applying to their program. Each school’s requirements may be different. These tests are similar to the SAT and ACT for undergraduate school. To see which test you are required to take, consult your prospective school. You should allow yourself plenty time to prepare, take the test, and obtain the results by the application deadline for the program you wish to pursue.

The most common standardized test for graduate school is the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). For more information on the GRE you can go to the Educational Testing Service (ETS) website. Booklets are available outside the Career Services Office (UC 106). Also, you may want to search Internet sites under the title of the particular test you’re interested in for additional information.
