I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you a success story that comes as a direct result of the services offered by the IUS Career Services department, specifically related to the internship program. As a business major, I was a part of this program for several semesters under Whitney and have currently been interning at my current employer for about 6 months (outside of the program).
Since I am graduating in December, I recently interviewed for a full-time position as an analyst within the company. While this position was only being posted internally, there were many applicants. Having only been with the company 6 months, I interviewed knowing that my chances of being offered the promotion were slim; however, I wanted to get some exposure to upper management and put myself on their radar. After the interview, I was given some great feedback from the hiring managers related to my professionalism during the interview, the depth of my answers, and my communication skills. In addi tion, the interview was validated by my performance when the hiring managers met with my current manager. Ultimately, I was offered the position for these reasons despite the length of time I have been with the company.
Because of the services offered by your department, I have received a job offer for every position for which I have had a face-to-face interview. As a result of this most recent offer, this streak still stands. Thank you for making it your mission to equip students with the tools they need to successfully enter the workforce.
