Nominations sought for alumni
awards
The IU Southeast Alumni Association is now accepting
nominations for the Alumni Award of Excellence. Each
year, one alumnus or alumna from each of IU Southeast’s
six schools receives an Award of Excellence at the annual
Distinguished Alumni luncheon in April.
The association is also seeking nominations for the
Distinguished Alumni of the Year. The Distinguished
Alumni of the Year is the most prestigious award designated
for IU Southeast alumni. Winners are recognized at the
Distinguished Alumni luncheon in April and are also featured
in the University’s Commencement ceremony in May.

The annual Indiana University Southeast Chancellor’s
Medallion Dinner set records for raised funds and
attendance.
The 2012 event, held Oct. 27, 2012, resulted in more
than $100,000 in funding for student scholarships at IU
Southeast. More than 650 patrons attended the dinner at
Horseshoe Southern Indiana.
Of the proceeds generated, nearly $37,000 came from
the live and silent auctions at the event. The remainder
were the result of sponsorships, ticket sales, and additional
scholarship donations.
This year’s dinner honored two local community leaders
with the Chancellor’s Medallion – Donald McMahel and
Michael Naville – and recognized four IU Southeast seniors
as recipients of the Chancellor’s Medallion Leadership
Scholarship.
The fundraising totals fromMedallion sponsorships and
ticket sales also contributed to IU Southeast’s $11 million
Shaping Powerful Futures capital campaign.
