McCullough Plaza, at the heart of the IU
Southeast campus, is celebrating its 25th
anniversary this year. Here is a photo of the
clock tower being installed in 1988.
Date mix-up:
Thanks to IU alumnus Nick McIntosh, B.S. ’68, we’ve been able to accurately
date the Flashback photo from the fall 2012 edition of the magazine. The
back of the original photo listed the date taken as the 1969-70 school year,
but McIntosh, who happens to be in the foreground of the photo, knew that
wasn’t right. He was in Vietnam during the 1969-70 school year – making
his appearance at IU Southeast that year impossible. The photo was actually
taken in the 1966-67 school year, McIntosh said. He and fellow alumnus Tony
Schuler, B.S. ’69, were playing a game of euchre as the photographer took
shots in the student center at Warder Park. McIntosh attended IU Southeast in
1961
and 1965-67 before heading to Bloomington to complete his degree.
