Message from the Dean
Dear Registered Nurse:
I am honored to welcome you to the School of Nursing’s RN to B.S.N. program.
It is an exciting time for our profession and an exciting time to be involved
with nursing at IU Southeast. You are entering one of the region’s top schools of
nursing to complete your baccalaureate degree. Many factors contribute to our
success, including the creativity, energy, and commitment of faculty, staff, students
and alumni.
As new healthcare models continue to emerge in the 21st century, nurses
continue to play a prominent role in shaping and delivering that care – which is
why we remain steadfast in our mission to prepare nurses to make a difference in
the lives of individuals, families, and communities. Our baccalaureate level
courses will prepare you to strengthen your knowledge base and practice as a
registered nurse.
You will continue in your role as expert clinicians in diverse care settings with
the ability to look at your profession with a new, perhaps different perspective.
You will graduate from our program as leaders who can dramatically influence
the quality of care and overall performance of the system into the future.
Bridging education and clinical applications is increasingly crucial to the future of
nursing. Educating excellent nurses is what we do.The School of Nursing has built
its reputation on the development of a curriculum that anticipates and responds
to the complex health care environment. Our outstanding alumni are proof that
an IU Southeast nursing degree not only prepares graduates but sets them apart
from others.
We are excited about the opportunities for our profession in the future and
continue to strive for excellence in learning, discovery, and engagement.
I am proud of our graduates and the impact they are making. I am thrilled to
