IU Southeast is centrally located in New Albany, Ind., just 15 minutes from downtown Louisville, Ky. The campus features 177 acres of state-of-the-art academic buildings, rolling hills, a lake, and a lush, wooded area. The Center for Mentoring has programs designed to assist students in succeeding in engaging, navigating, and graduating from Indiana University Southeast.
The Mentoring Program is available to any student enrolled at IU Southeast and will pair students with a faculty, staff, or alumni mentor who will personally guide you from your first year to graduation. The Access to Success Program is geared to serve a select group of first-year students in their transition to college life at IU Southeast.
This student population consists of minority students, adult students 25 years and older, first generation students, and 21st Century Scholar students. A component of the Access to Success Program is the Collegiate Summer Institute, an early awareness summer bridge program. Peer Mentors are paired with the first-year students to connect and assist students in a successful first-year experience.
The IU Southeast Scholar Program is designed for 21st Century Scholar students at IU Southeast. The program consists of two components: Peer Mentoring and Chi Alpha Epsilon, an honor society for underrepresented students.
The Center for Mentoring hosts an annual Fall Reception to welcome minority students to campus and a Minority Graduation Spring Reception.

Under the guidance of its strategic goals and objectives, IU Southeast aims to develop an effective coordination mechanism by capitalizing on the rich diversity resources throughout the campus. There are four major layers in this extensive and inclusive coalition for diversity.
1. Leadership: The Chancellor and Vice Chancellors provide direction and strategy.
2. Diversity Advisory Council: A broadly representative thinktank composed of selected volunteers who are committed to a comprehensive concept of diversity and able to bring experience, expertise, or insights to campus-wide planning on diversity initiatives.
3. Diversity Coordinators: Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Equity & Diversity personnel function as a bridge between the central leadership and various task forces and participants. They are responsible for facilitating communication and coordinating diversity-related projects and activities.
4. Diversity Task Forces: Various action teams on campus that work with other individuals and interest groups to implement IU Southeast strategic goals and school/division/unit diversity plans and/or reach out to the community.
