Advising

Undergraduate

You are strongly encouraged to consult with an advisor before registering at IU Southeast. Advisors will review academic requirements, discuss prospective courses, and consider how those courses fit into your overall academic plan. They may also discuss the relationship between academic plans and prospective careers. You should take advantage of the counseling days scheduled before registration.

If you haven't been admitted to the School of Education, then see your Academic Success Center advisor (University Center South, Room 207) before enrolling in Education courses.

Candidates admitted to the Elementary undergraduate program may find their assigned advisor on the list available at https://www.ius.edu/education/elementary/advising.cfm.

Secondary candidates admitted to the program are advised by their subject area coordinator: http://www.ius.edu/Education/secondary/advising.cfm.

Graduate

Interested students are expected to attend an Advising and Information Session. Session dates can be found by clicking here.  Graduate students who have been admitted can be advised by program advisors; candidates also have assigned faculty advisors for the Summative Decision Point writings.  Contact information for these advisors can be found by clicking here.

If you are unable to attend a session and/or need additional advising, please call the Student Services Office at (812) 941-2449 or (812) 941-2593 to schedule an appointment with a graduate advisor.
