The Reading Teacher License Program at IU Southeast offers interested candidates a licensure program to receive their reading teacher certification. The Reading Teacher License Program prepares literacy leaders of tomorrow. While some program completers choose to use their new-found expertise in their own classrooms, others choose to become Reading Coaches or other specialized Reading Teachers.

The program requires 24 credit hours and may be part of the Master's Degree Program. The Reading Program can also be a part of the Rank I/Plus 30 requirements. See the "Forms and Manuals" section to review checksheets for specific course requirements. All applicants must hold a valid elementary, junior high/middle school, or secondary license.

For candidates admitted after 7/15/2011, a two-year gap in coursework will require a new application for re-admission into any graduate program, and a mandatory meeting with a program advisor.  The re-admitted candidate must then comply with any new program requirements, if any.
