The Office of Equity & Diversity works with departments engaged in faculty or professional staff searches to ensure the most effective recruitment and fairest selection practices are followed. We offer training sessions for supervisors, designed in conjunction with Human Resources. We have developed an extensive list of resources that can be used in the hiring process and for departments to use to diversify their staff through advertising and networking. We monitor academic and professional searches, consulting with departments to come up with strategies for meeting departmental affirmative action goals.
