Current Student Scholarship General Information

Current Student Scholarships & Financial Aid at IU Southeast

IU Southeast administers institutional financial aid and scholarships every year to IU Southeast students, both incoming freshmen and current, to aid them in paying for their education. Scholarships awarded to students at IU Southeast are awarded based on and/or a combination of recognition of their academic achievement, leadership and community service, potential for future performance and financial need.

The scholarship listing is only a partial list of general and major-specific scholarships that are available at IU Southeast. The online scholarship application does not apply for all scholarships at IU Southeast. You are encouraged to contact your academic school and/or department to inquire about scholarship opportunities within their areas.

Private sector scholarship opportunities are also a viable funding resource for IU Southeast students. Further information about private scholarships is available online through our website. See Online Scholarship Search Engines to find out more.

Students should submit their FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to receive full consideration for federal, state and institutional need-based financial aid. To ensure the FAFSA is used in the scholarship process it must be received by March 1. Current students applying for financial aid can expect to receive email notification of their financial aid around June 1. Students are verified for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) each spring to determine if school standards have been met and are eligible to receive federal, state and institutional aid.

• Online scholarship application deadline: March 1
• Scholarship process received deadline (FAFSA): March 1
• Indiana State Aid filing deadline (FAFSA): March 10
• Scholarships and Tuition at IU Southeast
• Scholarships at IU Southeast are credited to the student account, usually split equally between fall and spring semesters. They are applied against the balance on the student account after registration and any remaining balance is sent to the student for use for other educational expenses like books, etc.
• Go to the IU Southeast Bursar website to learn more about tuition & fee rates, setting up a direct deposit, Title IV form, and QuiKPay.
• Taxes and Scholarships
• Students receiving combinations of scholarships that exceed tuition and fees (direct costs) may need to consult with IRS publications #520 and #508 on tax liability for the difference. Please see the IRS website for downloadable copies or more information. (The Scholarship Office cannot provide information on tax advising.)
