Graphic Design

Graphic Design at IU Southeast features both digital and traditional print media coursework. Because of our state-of-the-art computer facility, Graphic Design students have the option of learning a wide variety of design skills, including print and layout design, web design and digital media. Although Graphic Design at IU Southeast embraces the latest technology available, we are also committed to the fundamentals of good design that include compositional, color, and drawing skills. We believe that teaching the latest digital technology in concert with the fundamental principles of basic design makes us one of the strongest Graphic Design programs in the area.

Professor Whitesell's background is in print and multimedia design and she is able to share her knowledge of the field and personal expertise with her students. She is also involved in digital printmaking and exhibits regionally, nationally, and internationally.  Marilyn was the recipient of the Indiana University Southeast’s Distinguished Research and Creativity Award for junior faculty and the Indiana University Bloomington’s New Frontiers Grant for research in digital media.
