Great Room

Great RoomEach of our five lodges includes a central Great Room surrounded by private suites. The Great Room is the perfect place to watch local sporting events, the latest episode of your favorite television show, play your favorite video games, or hang out by the fireplace.

Cable Television

Cable TV is available in all of the residence hall bedrooms, living rooms and the Great Room. You must provide your own televisions and cable cords.

High-Tech Lodges

All apartments and bedrooms are equipped with multiple data jacks to assure 24x7 access to the Internet. We’re proud to offer a data connection for every bed, as well as one in each living area. Computer labs and study rooms are located in each hall. Computer labs include brand new PCs as well as printing stations for students who bring their own laptops. In addition, the Great Rooms offer wireless internet access for all residents.

Dining

Dining facilities in University CenterThanks to our new $7 million renovation to the University Center, students who live on campus have plenty of dining options and healthy choices. Of course, the most popular place to dine is our campus commons, a café-style dining area conveniently located in the center of campus overlooking the lake. Here you can help yourself to an assortment of fresh food, including grilled specials, soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees.

Plus there's a new Coffee Shop (the second on campus). It’s part coffee bar, part hideaway, all laid back and modern. You can pay for food—in the Commons, the campus coffee shops, or in vending machines — with your U Card. The U Card is your official identification. It acts as your campus ID, a library card, a debit card, and even a building access card for students living in our residence halls.

Safety & Security

The IU Southeast Police Department is a fully empowered law enforcement agency. The main objective of this department is to ensure the safety, peace, and tranquility of the academic community and our residence halls. Police officers are on duty 24 hours a day.

Access to the residence halls is strictly limited. As a resident, you must swipe your U Card to gain entry to your building. Every room is equipped with state-of-the art life protection systems, including fire sprinklers, and each suite is secured with a keyed lock. Surveillance cameras are located at each building entrance.

Laundry & Vending Machines

Laundry rooms, complete with multiple washers and dryers, are located in each residence hall. Vending machines are also located in each hall as well as throughout campus. Students may purchase snacks, water, juice and soda. Laundry facilities and vending machines allow you to pay with your U Card. Money can be added to your U Card by using the Cash to Card machines located in the University Center.

Housekeeping & Maintenance

The University Physical Plant Department provides maintenance and repair services throughout the residence halls. The cleanliness of the new residence halls is critical to all residents and staff. Physical Plant custodians are responsible for the Great Room, common areas and laundry facilities in each hall. Residents are responsible for their own apartments and bedrooms. As a resident, you have the right and responsibility to keep the new residence halls tidy.

Parking

Residents must purchase a campus parking permit. Be aware that limited parking is available; parking is not guaranteed. Guests who park on campus must purchase a temporary permit from one of three parking permit dispensers located at each campus entrance. See the campus map for more details.

Accessibility

Every hall includes a handicapped entrance and designated van-accessible parking spaces. Some first-floor apartments have been designed for wheelchair accessibility and are furnished appropriately.
