Assistant Professor of Education (Special Education)
The School of Education invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor to teach Undergraduate and Graduate Special Education in the field of mild interventions (Learning Disability, Emotional Disability, Cognitive Disability, mild/moderate) courses beginning in August 2013. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, the position requires advising Special Education candidates and liaison responsibilities with partnership schools; delivering courses through hybrid, online and face-to-face strategies; supervising candidates in field and clinical work; active participation in the School of Education and university activities (planning, curriculum development, assessment design and data collection for NCATE/CAEP, committee work); a commitment to personal and student scholarly work; building partnerships with P-12 schools; and inclusion of diversity in curriculum and instruction. All course work in the School of Education is required to integrate diversity, technology and national and state standards, including CEC standards. Serving as the coordinator in the Special Education program is expected.
