The School of Education Elementary Education Undergraduate Program invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position to teach elementary education social studies courses, and supervise field experiences beginning August 2014.
Candidates must have Ed.D., Ph.D. or ABD (doctoral degree preferably completed by August 15, 2014) in education from an accredited university with significant course work and experience in elementary social studies content and methodology, as well as three years of teaching experience in K-6 schools. Additional teaching expertise is welcome, such as diversity and international education, early childhood, educational assessment or classroom management. Preference will be given to candidates who have experiences teaching in higher education, serving in leadership roles, working with diverse students, and incorporating technology in teaching.
In addition to teaching elementary social studies methods and supervising practicum, the successful candidate is also expected to maintain an active sholarly agenda related to teaching responsibiities and regianal needs. Other responsibilities inclde serving in school and campus committees, taking leadership roles, and participating in accreditation.
