Dean of Nursing

 Indiana University Southeast, one of eight campuses of Indiana University, is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader as Dean of the School of Nursing.  Located in historic New Albany, Indiana, our beautiful 180-acre campus is only 10 minutes from vibrant, downtown Louisville, Kentucky.  IU Southeast serves over 6,400 students enrolled in more than 50 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.  The campus has experienced significant growth over the last 10 years, as evidenced by the construction of a new library, five residence halls and a state of the art learning laboratory in the School of Nursing.   The next Dean comes to IU Southeast at an exciting time of growth and change, and will be joining a community committed to providing high quality education and lifetime growth opportunities for the population of Southern Indiana and the Greater Louisville region.

 The preferred candidate will possess

  • Strong record of visionary, collaborative leadership
  • Ability to be licensed as a registered nurse in Indiana.
  • Established record of teaching, scholarly achievement and service appropriate to a tenured faculty appointment.
  • Record of successful implementation of initiatives in time of change and growth.
  • An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field.
  • Skills for success in building community partnerships and fiscal resources.

 IU Southeast is a place where faculty and students enjoy a small college environment alongside the many benefits of our association with Indiana University.    Baccalaureate undergraduate and RN-BSN programs at IU Southeast have an outstanding reputation in the region and are accredited by the CCNE through 2020.  Graduate programs in nursing leadership and education are pending. The Dean as the executive officer of the School of Nursing, has the benefit of a collaborative network of other Nursing Deans throughout the IU system, and reports to the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs of IU Southeast.
