Coffee Shop Supervisor

Pay: $9.00/hr (no benefits available)

Approximately 25 hours per week.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: Responsible for the daily operations of two coffee shops which include; training, scheduling, purchasing, cash handling and inventory control.  Assist with dining and catering as needed.  Maintain sanitation plan in accordance with University and Health Department guidelines. Reports to the Manager of Dining and Conference Services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience in food service, prefer some coffee shop experience
  • 1 year supervisory experience  
  • Knowledge of food service/sanitation techniques
  • Cash handling and cash register experience
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with wide range of people
  • Must be available to work day, evening and occasional weekend hours
  • Proven orientation toward quality service
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Average mobility needed
  • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, carry, reach and stand for extended periods of time

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Hire, supervise, train, and schedule employees; monitor and evaluate job performance; and maintain attendance records.
  •  Oversee both coffee shop operations and work as needed.
  •  Maintain inventory of supplies.
  •  Maintain sanitation plan in accordance with University and Health Department guidelines.
  •  Balance cash drawers, perform cash audits, balance daily deposits, and insure proper cash handling by employees as required and in accordance with university policies.
  •  Resolve any problems that may arise.
  •  Assist in retail operations as needed and available.  
  •  Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
