Hourly Office Services Assistant - School of Natural Sciences Print this Job Posting

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
Provide basic clerical support, answer and route telephone calls.  Process mail, order office supplies, file, make travel reservations, process travel forms, and maintain department files.  Tasks include, but not limited to, keyboarding, reconciling accounts, filing, duplicating, word processing, editing, scanning, faxing, and communicating in person and by phone and email.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
1 year office experience in bookkeeping/accounting
Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications (M.S. Word and Excel preferred)
Keyboarding skills – 45 wpm
Knowledge of and experience with basic bookkeeping principles
Math aptitude
Familiarity with standard office procedures and equipment
Communication and customer service skills
Organizational skills with ability to work on multiple tasks
Average mobility needed
Ability to lift 10 pounds
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, carry and stoop

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare purchase requisitions in EPIC as needed.   Follow up with vendors as necessary.

Perform transactions in the FIS to include transfers of funds, budget adjustments, disbursement vouchers and internal billing documents.  Request checks and process payments.  Act as liaison with Purchasing. 

Maintain list of purchases, open purchase orders and credit card transactions.

Serve as liaison regarding billing and collection procedures; respond to inquiries regarding policies and procedures.

Prepare monthly and yearly financial reports, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures; inform Dean of account balances. Assist Dean with the School of Natural Sciences budget, reconcile and maintain statement of accounts and budgets.  Advise account managers and discipline coordinators of the status of their accounts.

Maintain a budget/amount use spreadsheet on each faculty’s travel; report overages to Dean for year-end additional reimbursements.

Maintain School of Natural Sciences student wages spreadsheet.

Regional Parent Coordinator - 21st Century Scholar Program Print this Job Posting

  The Regional Parent Coordinator will facilitate ongoing Parent/Scholar Meetings within each of our six counties, three times per year and assist the County Parent Leader during the other months.  The Parent Coordinator will assemble a core group of parents to sponsor monthly meetings within their home counties.  They will provide timely, educational workshops to parents on topics mandated by the Central Office.  Solicit Parent signatures on Affirmations and enrollment.  In addition, the Regional Parent Coordinator will be responsible for newsletter production of Parent activities.

 The Regional Parent Coordinator will assist with planning and implementation of college tours throughout the year.  They will plan activities for parents locally and for State wide events.  Also recruit parents for activities that will encourage them to go to college and help them to assist their Scholars to be better prepared for college.  They shall also participate in meetings and activities as mandated by the State.  The Parent Coordinator shall oversee the County Parent Leaders on a daily basis and delegate information from the state as well as any new goals.  The Coordinator will assist the Site Coordinator by outlying parent programming based on parent tracking forms and submit a Parent program proposal for each year.  The Coordinator will assist in any other duties as assigned.

 The Parent Coordinator shall positively promote the Twenty-first Century Scholars Program to the community.

Must be a parent of 21st Century Scholar
Salary:  $23,025 yr.

WE ARE HIRING FOR TWO PART-TIME CUSTODIAL POSITONS:

1) 5:30 am - 9:30 am (Monday-Friday) 2) 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm (Monday-Friday)

The pay for each position is $9.55/hr.

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: Enhance the appearance of IUS by providing and maintaining a clean and safe learning and working environment. Tasks include, but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors; dusting, polishing, and moving furniture; operating vacuum cleaner, shampooer, and buffer; cleaning restrooms; washing walls, windows and chalkboards. Outdoor work may be required such as: shoveling snow, mowing, planting flowers, pulling weeds and cleaning grounds.

These are part-time position and no benefits available.

Clean mirrors, dispensers, and partitions. Spot clean walls and baseboards. Clean sanitary cans. Disinfect door handles. Check restrooms once each hour.

CLASSROOMS: Wash chalkboards, clean chalk trays and erasers, replace chalk. Empty trashcans and pencil sharpeners. Vacuum carpet, dust mop, wet mop floor, strip, wax and buff floors. Shampoo or spot clean stains. Clean phones and computers. Wipe off and straighten desks. Change light bulbs. Dust (high-low) and spot clean walls. Some classrooms such as labs may require specific duties.

LOUNGE AREAS: Empty wastebaskets/trash cans. Dust and straighten furniture. Clean and dust furniture. Vacuum carpet and spot clean. Spot clean walls. Clean computer glass. Clean microwaves, refrigerators, etc. Clean windows.

OFFICES: Empty wastebaskets/trash cans and pencil sharpeners. Dust furniture, computer screens, and keyboards. Vacuum carpet. Change light bulbs (ladder needed). Clean telephones. Clean, wax, and polish desktops.

STAIRWAYS AND ELEVATORS: Sweep, wet mop or dust mop stairs and floor. Check corners for spider webs.

LAB ROOMS: REMOVE AND DISPOSE OF HAZARDOUS WASTE FROM LABORATORIES>

PERIODIC DUTIES: Strip, seal, wax and/or buff floors and hallways. Shampoo carpets. Move furniture. Clean childcare center. Assist with set-ups. Carry bags of art clay and salt (50 pounds).

OGLE CENTER: Read requests and set up for shows. Prepare theatres and amphitheater theatre for performances. Clean dressing rooms and orchestra room. Assist with lighting and sound and stage work. Set up tables, piano, microphone, and riser. Perform other duties specific to Ogle Center. OCCASIONAL DUTIES: Clean windows (20 feet or more). Clean dugout at ball diamond. Put up tennis nets. Change nets on basketball goals. Clean up after construction. Respond to emergency situations as required. Pump out traps under sinks in art rooms. Shovel snow. Prepare for graduation, load unload chairs. Unload salt truck. Move furniture. Lay carpet. Set up or remove amphitheater trap. Empty cigarette stands. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
