OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct student assessment and satisfaction surveys and other evaluative measures. Develop relationships and/or partnerships with local/regional/state/national agencies and organizations to develop quality community service opportunities for members of the IU Southeast community. Develop comprehensive marketing plan to promote community service to students as an applied learning opportunity, to recruit more students to serve in volunteer roles, and to promote the Volunteer Programs office as a resource center. Maintain and update a current list of volunteer/service opportunities in the region. Manage budget for Volunteer Programs, including required reporting associated with grant-related funds. Develop and propose annual budget requests and justifications. Analyze and improve volunteer management systems. Collaborate with Career Services to include service opportunities on the employment website. Increase participation in and utilization of resources such as Campus Compact, Idealist on Campus, etc. Serve as the campus representative to Indiana Campus Compact. Serve as a resource to student organizations, advisors and individual students. Maintain and update database system to document required service hours for student organizations. Participate as a member of Campus Life staff and assist with projects and programs to meet the goals of the department and the institutional strategic plan. Some weekend and evening work hours are required, depending on the program and event calendar. Develop recognition programs and coordinate nominations for community service awards for members of the IUS community. Conduct a service project at new student orientation. Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director or Director of Campus Life. DEPARTMENT: Accounting Services This is a part time hourly position. No benefits are available. Approximately 24 hours per week. Hours are subject to change each semester. $9.00 per hour EFFECTIVE: Immediately OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY: This position will serve as a contact for students, faculty, staff, and prospective students. This position’s main responsibility will be serving as resource person answering general questions regarding registration, transcripts, fee payments, and financial aid. This position must operate a cashier drawer and balance it daily. Other tasks include, but are not limited to: counting money, shredding documents, keyboarding, entering data, duplicating, and communicating in person and by phone. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED equivalent 1-year office experience 1-year cash handling experience Basic computer skills – data entry (Peoplesoft preferred) Knowledge of office machines (coin sorter, calculator, copy machine, keyboarding) Communication skills Customer services skills Detail oriented Ability to work with wide range of people Flexible hours, some evenings required Proven orientation toward quality service Ability to lift 10 pounds Sedentary position: sitting for extended periods DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as resource person: answer questions regarding registration, drop/add procedures, transcripts, fee payments, student accounts, policies, procedures, and financial aid. Also may need to refer to appropriate office or individual. Answer telephone and take messages. Balance cashier drawer daily. Assist in general office duties including, but not limited to: counting of coin, shredding, and filing. Assist in the stuffing and mailing of letters, bills, and other office communications. Assist in issuing U Cards to campus community (students, staff, and faculty) Count or verify coin collected by Bursars office from library copy machines, parking meters, and vending machines from ladies restrooms and deposit income to proper account. Disburse funds for petty cash items to campus employees. Verify proper account number, expense class, acceptability of purchase, proper signatures, and proper amount as per receipts.
