Future Students
All future students of IU Southeast will benefit from a wide variety of technology ranging from free email to free Wi-Fi making education fun and convenient.
Wi-Fi
All students must bring their laptops to the IU Southeast Help Desk for the initial setup in order to use Wi-Fi on the IU Southeast campus. The IU Southeast Help Desk is located in the University Center South, room 212. After the initial setup, just sign in using your IU Southeast username and passphrase and use unlimited Wi-Fi free of charge. Wi-Fi is available anywhere on campus.
Student Technology Centers (STCs)
Student Technology Centers are IU Southeast’s student computer labs that can be accessed by every IU Southeast student. For more information on STC Locations and hours, go to www.ius.edu/it and click on the “lab locations and hours” located underneath the “labs and classrooms section.
IU Accounts
Set up your IU Account to obtain access to all IU Southeast online features and tools such as OneStart, Oncourse, and almost every other online tool that IU Southeast has to offer. To set up your IU Account, visit http://itaccounts.iu.edu and follow the instructions.
OneStart
OneStart is an online portal that can be used to reach almost all of IU Southeast’s online features and tools. You can use OneStart to register for classes, check tuition balances, view loans and much more.
Oncourse
This online tool, offered only by IU campuses, is helpful with communicating with classmates and instructors and can also be used as a learning tool. Oncourse can be used to view the class roster for a particular class, class announcements, the syllabus, to take a test online, plus many other tools that vary upon different classes. Some students use Oncourse as their primary tool for taking courses online.
Help Desk
If you have questions or need help with IU Southeast Technology, the Help Desk may be able to help you. Students may contact the Helpdesk for assistance with all IU Southeast computer and telephone problems. The Help Desk is located in University Center South (UCS) 212. The Help Desk can be reached via phone by dialing 941-2447 or by e-mail at Helpdesk@ius.edu.
The Help Desk is open Monday - Friday 8:00am to 8:00pm and Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm, except on university holidays.
Email Services
IU Southeast offers Imail, run by Microsoft and Umail, run by Google. Both email services are free and can be yours even after graduation. Both emails contain special features such as calendars, live chat, storage space and much more. Go to www.ius.edu/email and choose Imail or Umail.
Hardware Deals
Need a computer? IU Southeast holds computer sales with very affordable prices. Go to www.ius.edu/it and click on the “Software and Hardware” link to find out more.
Software Deals
Can’t afford hundreds of dollars in software? Go to IUware.iu.edu and download software for free or go to the bookstore and buy hardcopies for unbeatable prices. The IU Southeast Bookstore is located in the University Center South room 007.
