New Faculty & Staff
The Office of Information Technology encompasses a wide variety of services at IU Southeast. IT provides support for all student, faculty and staff computing needs, as well as manages telephones and media services. Listed below are some of the main IT services and computing features available in addition to where to find more information on these topics.
Access the IU Southeast Computing Network
Your IU Account allows you to use IU online services such as email and Oncourse. Start by accessing the Web site: http://itaccounts.iu.edu. If you are new to IU Southeast, select Create My First Computing Accounts. If you already have an IU Account, select Create More IU Computing Accounts. For more information on how to create accounts, visit IT Accounts and Passphrases, or call the IT Helpdesk at 941-2447.
Audio-Visual (AV) Equipment Ordering and Reservations
Faculty and staff can reserve AV equipment, fill out the online form or call Media Services at 941-2257.
Telephones
Help with setting up and using your telephone and voice mail can be obtained through your department secretary or call the IT helpdesk 941-2447. Long distance privileges are obtained from Telephone Services, but requests should be forwarded through your department secretary.
Oncourse
Oncourse CL, IU Southeast’s online collaboration and learning environment, supports teaching and learning, committees, projects, research, and portfolios for Indiana University’s community of students, faculty and staff. Instructor’s use Oncourse to post the class syllabus, grades and announcements. Oncourse also maintains class lists, discussions forums and class email. Visit http://Oncourse.iu.edu/.
OneStart
OneStart is IU’s Web-based application portal that provides a common front door to online services at all IU campuses. OneStart offers easier and more direct access to the multitude of services available for students, faculty, and staff such as grades and Bursar statement information. Online File Storage on Oncourse
All IU students, faculty and staff are allowed network space called an H: Drive to store files. Access your storage by logging into Oncourse, then going to Resources. All students, faculty and staff each have 1 gigabyte or more storage capacity using Oncourse.
Web Pages
IU Southeast students, faculty and staff are allocated space for personal webpages. The pages are viewable by anyone. They are not secure. To create your IU Southeast webpage, open a web browser and go to SpinWeb. Enter your IU Southeast user ID and password or passphrase and the domain ADS.
Where to go for IT Help
Contact the IT Helpdesk by email helpdesk@ius.edu, phone 941-2447 or visit UCS 212. Helpdesk consultants may assist students, faculty and staff with issues or questions regarding IU Southeast technology such as email, computer system hardware and most software. To a limited extent, the IT Helpdesk may help with personal computer issues, but only when the problem concerns difficulty using IU Southeast online services.
