Overview
About Imail and Umail
IU has partnered with Microsoft and Google to offer newly-enrolled students two options for webmail and other online communication services. These services are available to all students.
Can I Switch Mail Systems?
Students can switch from Imail to Umail by logging onto http://itaccounts.iu.edu
Create more accounts
You can create a new account on the opposite mailing system. For example, if you have Umail, you can create an Imail account at http://itaccounts.iu.edu.
IU Southeast Faculty and Staff should not use Imail or Umail for official IU Southeast business.
Accessing your IU Southeast E-mail
Access your Imail or Umail account by clicking the Email link on the IU Southeast homepage or from OneStart. On Onestart, look for the Services tab, select Email on the left, and then click Imail or Umail.
You also can access your account directly via the web:
https://umail.iu.edu/ -or- https://imail.iu.edu/
You may also access Umail (and additional, advanced features) via the Google Apps for Indiana University login page using your vendor password.

You may access your Exchange account as follows:

Note: If you use Outlook or handheld synchronization software and connect to Indiana University via an outside Internet service provider (ISP), you must establish a VPN connection before connecting to your Exchange mailbox. See At IU, using an outside ISP, why can't I connect to my Exchange account with Outlook or BlackBerry Desktop Manager? - You can read your Exchange mail using a BlackBerry wireless personal digital assistant (PDA) by subscribing to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Redirector service from UITS. For details, see BlackBerry Enterprise Server Redirector accounts.
- You can reach your Exchange mail from anywhere by using the Outlook Web Access (OWA) site at: https://www.exchange.iu.edu/
